ISLAMABAD, Aug 23: Acting President Muhammadmian Soomro has summoned the Senate to meet on Monday (Aug 25). The upper house is expected to debate the annulment of 17th Amendment, restoration of judiciary to pre-Nov 2 position and the law and order situation in tribal areas.

A handout said on Saturday that acting President Muhammadmian Soomro had summoned the Senate to meet in the Parliament House on Aug 25.

The Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs, Izhar Amrohi, told Dawn that although the proposed resolution for reinstatement of deposed judges would be tabled and passed in the National Assembly, Senate members would also be given a chance to speak their mind on the issue.
