Governor not being replaced, says Qaim

By Our correspondent

DADU, Aug 23: The Sindh Chief Minister has dismissed speculations about the removal of Governor Ishratul Ibad and that the local bodies system was being scrapped.

However, he admitted of making some changes to the system while talking to journalists at the shrine of Qalandar Lala Shahbaz during the conclusion of Urs celebrations.

He was accompanied by the povincial Revenue Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah and Minster for Rural Development Zubair Ahmed Khan.

He said Asif Zardari could be elected unopposed for President’s post as three assemblies had passed resolutions supporting him.

He said the Sindh government was serving people by paying attention towards health, water supply, education and drainage.

He urged people to follow teachings of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz.

Before his arrival, police baton-charged devotees and cleared thoroughfare for him. Police cordoned off the shrine and sealed road for five hours causing difficulties to devotees.
