Pall of gloom persists over Wah Cantt

TAXILA, Aug 23: The entire city of Wah Cantonment presented a deserted look on the third consecutive day after the twin suicide attacks at the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) on Thursday that left at least 70 people dead and over 100 injured.

No hustle and bustle was witnessed on the city’s roads and markets. Although offices opened on Saturday, attendance remained thin. Public and private sector educational institutions also did not open.

National dailies were being sold like hot cakes as people wanted to update themselves on Thursday’s suicide blasts. According to official sources, the death toll remained the same and the injured are stated to be stable. Some of them would be discharged on Monday.— Correspondent
