HYDERABAD, Aug 23: Sindh National Front Chairman Mumtaz Ali Bhutto on Saturday opposed nomination of the Pakistan People’s Party co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari as future president of the country and said he was not fit for such an important post.

He said in a press statement that Zardari had been acquitted in all but the cases filed against him outside the country under a deal with former president.

If Zardari was elected president, no Pakistani would be able to walk with his head raised high and it would be a great misfortune for Pakistan and the nation, he said.

Bhutto said that Zardari and his party had done nothing to solve people’s problems during four months of their rule and future of Pakistan would be in grave danger if inefficient people remained in power, he said.

He urged people to read the writing on the wall and foil all the conspiracies being hatched against the country. Those who had come into power in the name of Benazir had totally forgotten her martyrdom, he regretted.
