HYDERABAD: Dist nazim orders early completion of uplift work

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Aug 22: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed the officials concerned to complete the remaining construction work on the road from Habib Hotel to Bacha Khan Chowk without further delay as it is the busiest road leading to the Hyderabad railway station.

He has issued these directives at a meeting of the officials of the district government at his secretariat.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the ongoing development schemes in the district.

“It is necessary that the work on the development schemes should be carried out day and night to complete it within stipulated time,” the district nazim said and added that wherever sewerage lines were laid, construction of roads should be started immediately.

The quality of work must not be compromised under any circumstances, he said.

He directed the chairman and members of the district works and services committee to inspect the ongoing work on development schemes daily and report him if they found any bottleneck.

The ongoing development work and renovation of Rani Bagh should be completed on priority basis and it should be opened for public as soon as possible, Mr Jamil said.

He emphasised the need for completing the renovation work of historical buildings without delay.

The meeting was attended by technical officers, Hesco consultant of the district government, concerned XENs and chairman and members of the district works and services committee.

Meanwhile, DCO Ali Ahmed has expressed dissatisfaction on slow pace of work on Rani Bagh Development Scheme and has directed the officials concerned to get the scheme completed by 25th of Ramazan so that this recreational spot could be opened for people on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

This he said at a meeting to review the pace of development work of Rani Bagh Development Scheme at his office.

The DCO asked officials concerned to explain why the pace of development was so slow that even the cages of animals had not been designed nor plantation on the proposed areas was started when the required funds of the scheme had also been released.

He said the district government was committed to transparent and efficient utilisation of development funds and directed the officials concerned to expedite the pace of development work by putting double shift in the field.

He constituted a vigilance committee headed by EDO of revenue Syed Barkat Rizvi and directed him to monitor work of Rani Bagh Development Scheme and to get the report from the contractors on daily basis.
