Police cancel case against Mannu Bheel

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Aug 21: Tandojam police on Thursday cancelled a case against Mannu Bheel lodged by Ms Meena Kolhi who had accused him of sexually assaulting her.

SPO Ayub Brohi said that the charges did not hold against Mannu; therefore, the case had been disposed of.

“The woman is in fact a resident of Sikandarabad hari camp in Kotri taluka of Jamshoro district. She had wrongly stated in the FIR that she was living in the Tandojam police station’s area,” he said.

He said that Ms Meena had got the FIR registered under directives of sessions judge and she had claimed that Mannu and his companions had tried to molest her in Usman Sipyo village. The investigating officer of the case Qadir Bux Bahrani was not available for comments.

Ms Meena had claimed that Mannu, Gianchad and his accomplices had tried to molest her after she refused to leave her husband and marry Mannu.

Mannu in turn had accused Ms Meena and office-bearers of Green Rural Development Organisation (GRDO), who backed her case, of receiving money from Abdul Rehman Marri, prime accused in kidnapping case of Mannu’s family members, to malign him.

The case had been lodged 10 years back in Jhuddo.

Gianchand, an associate of Mannu had also lodged a case against Marri, Dr. Haider Malookani of the NGO, Kewal Kohli, husband of Meena, and a number of other people, accusing them of issuing threats of dire consequences and murder when they came to the hari camp in search of Mannu.

The case had been lodged at Kotri police station and Mannu said that the police were not taking any interest in investigating the incident.

BLAST: People were terrified by the sound of a blast in an iron factory in Site area on Thursday and prompted police and other law enforcement agencies to rush to the place.

The SHO of Site Javed Khanzada said that police found nothing at the factory. According to factory owner, the bang was a normal affair at his factory.
