Rashid finishes last in 110m hurdles heat
BEIJING, Aug 19: Pakistan’s Abdul Rashid finished eighth and last in the 110-metre hurdles heat three in the Olympics’ athletics competition at the National Stadium on Monday.
The 27-year-old Rashid, running in lane three, covered the distance in 14.52 seconds to finish last, thus failing to qualify for next round.
“I was in dreams while running at this gigantic stadium. I will cherish these moments for the rest of my life despite finishing last,” beaming Rashid said.
Paulo Villar of Colombia finished first, Ryan Brathwiate of Barbados was second, Petr Svoboda of Czech was third and Dongpeng Shi of China finished fourth.
