‘Head-hitter(s)’ injure youth critically

LAHORE, Aug 19: A youth was critically injured, apparently by serial head-hitter(s), at his Hamdani Park residence in Kotlakhpat area early on Tuesday.

Report said Muhsan Akbar, 22, from Samundari was living at his uncle's house for the last several months.

He was attacked by unidentified people inside the house early on Tuesday with bricks.

He was rushed to the Lahore General Hospital with multiple head injuries where his condition was reported to be critical.

IGP: The Punjab police are playing a vital role in countering the challenge of terrorism in an effective manner. And the officials who have laid down their lives while protecting the people are martyrs in the real sense of the word.

This was what IG Shaukat Javed observed while holding a ‘Police Darbar’ of the Punjab Constabulary at Farooqabad on Tuesday. He said a crackdown had been launched on proclaimed offenders and other criminals involved in heinous crime.

Saying that it was obligatory on the police to improve their performance and provide a sense of security to the masses, the IG said professional training to the police had a lot of significance in the reforms.

He said the salaries and privileges of police officials were being enhanced a great deal and measures were being initiated to create uniformity in the pays of officials belonging to various wings.
