Aitzaz wants trial

LAHORE, Aug 18: Supreme Court Bar Association president Aitzaz Ahsan has demanded that former president Pervez Musharraf should be tried for ‘his crimes’.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, he said Gen (retd) Musharraf should be given a fair trial on charges of treason.

“If a seven-member bench is to hear the case against Gen Musharraf, we do not mind if three PCO judges are part of it,” he said. He said Hafiz Peerzada, Sharifuddin Pirzada and Attorney-General Malik Qayyum should represent Musharraf “because they should not leave a friend in need”.—Reporter
