Winter Games
MOSCOW, Aug 18: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will not yield to “political pressure” from US lawmakers to strip Russia of the 2014 Winter Games, a top Russian official said in an interview published on Monday.
The IOC “adheres to the principle that ‘sport is separate from politics’ and will surely not yield to political pressure,” Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov said.—AFP
