ISLAMABAD, Aug 16: Four foreign players will compete in the 4th POF- WISPA International Squash Championship, starting at the Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Wah Cantt from Thursday.

The foreign players to participate in this world ranking tournament are world no. 41 Lisa Camilleri from Australia, Sima Padbod from Iran,

Kanzy Emad El-Defrawy from Egypt, Irina Assal from Russia and as many as four Malaysian girls.

POF Sports Control Board said that among the Pakistani girls Maria Toor will compete since she played the final of the previous edition. Maria is currently undergoing strenuous training at Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad.

The final round of the upcoming tournament will be played on August 24.

The title-winning person will be awarded US $10,900 in prize money. Chairman, Army Welfare Trust and President Punjab Squash Federation Lt Gen.

(r) Zarrar Azeem will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony.

It may be mentioned that three former champions of the tournament including Carla Khan, Sheron Wye and defending Champion Delia Arnold are not participating in the championship this year.—APP
