Nine medical stores sealed

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 16: Health officials sealed nine medical stores for selling spurious medicines and a clinic being run by a quack.

FLOUR: The district price control committee has decided that the district government will distribute flour bags among the poor in Ramzan. At a meeting, presided over by District Coordination Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, the committee decided to set up sale points and Ramzan bazaars in all towns of the district to provide people food items at subsidised rates.

PROBE: The district and sessions judge has appointed Kamalia’s Senior Civil Judge Waseem Anjum to probe the alleged murder of a government high school headmaster by Pirmahal police. Police killed headmaster Attaullah in a staged encounter in Chak 675/16-GB in July.

The judge will record statements of witnesses on Aug 19.
