CHITRAL: Police officials’ widows awarded plots

CHITRAL, Aug 16: The widows of the police officials, who lost their lives in a bomb blast in 1987, were handed over the award documents of plots in Regi Lalma township in a ceremony here in the police lines.

DPO Sher Akbar awarded the documents to the widows of ASI Gulsambar Khan and Head Constable Islamuddin. Addressing on this occasion, the DPO said that Chitral police was alive to its responsibilities and would utilise all its efforts and means to maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the district.

He said that no one would be allowed to create disturbance in the district and those involved in criminal activities would find no place within the boundaries of Chitral district. He said that a comprehensive system of award for the heirs of those sacrificing their lives in duty had been evolved.
