ISLAMABAD, Aug 15: India’s Rana Shweta lost to Thailand’s Kumkhum Luksika in the girls singles final of the ITF International Championship at PTF Tennis Complex on Friday.

The boys singles final will be held on Saturday.

Kumkhum Luksika lifted the title in straight sets winning 6-0, 6-2. Luksika won the first set with out conceding a single game by breaking first, third and fifth game of Rana by hitting powerful ground strokes from the base line.

In the second set Shweta Rana built up the lead 2-0 by breaking second game of Kumkhum.

Kumkhum won the second set 6-2 by breaking fifth and seventh game of Shweta.

Kumkhum got 30 valuable ITF International ranking points after winning the title.

Meanwhile, Saurabh Singh and Rohit Bisht (India) defeated compatriots Prithiv Sivasubramanium and Shantanu Rajput in a thrilling three set boy’s doubles final event of the championship.

Saurabh and Rohit won the match 7-6(8) 2-6 (10-1).

Both the teams held their services and the score reached 6 all in the first set. Rohit and Saurabh won the tie break at 10-8 by hitting a winner down the line.

During the second set Prithiv and Rajput changed the strategy and started attacking on the net and won the second set 6-2 by breaking fifth and seventh games of their opponents.

The final set decided at good tie break which was won by Saurabh and Rohit 10-1.

The title helped Saurabh and Rohit earn 20 ITF ranking points.

Girls’ singles final:

Kumkhum Luksika (Thailand) bt Rana Shweta (India) 6-0 6-2.

Saurabh Singh / Rohit Bisht (India) bt
