The deceased was identified as Ramooz Alam, 25, who had gone to the Moon Market to meet his friend, a traffic warden.

Out of the 48 injured people who were admitted to two hospitals in the city, two policemen and two other people were in critical condition, sources said.

Jinnah Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervez told Dawn that 25 patients had been admitted to the hospital and two of them died.

Five of them were discharged on Wednesday and five others on Thursday.
