LAHORE, Aug 14: Jamaat-i-Islami Chief Qazi Husain Ahmad said on Thursday that “US agents” ruling the country should be removed from power in order to infuse the real spirit of independence in the country. The task, he said, can be accomplished through awakening and organising masses and not through bomb blasts.

He said this at a flag hoisting ceremony at Mansoora, Jamaat’s headquarters.

Mr Ahmad said the West-trained bureaucracy was running the country while the rulers lacked spirit and ability to protect Pakistan. Had they been sincere in saving the homeland, they would have shunned the US dictates, he added.

The country was on fire as army was fighting its own people to please the US in Mahmand Agency, Bajaur, Swat, Kurram Agency, South and North Waziristan and Balochistan, he said.
