MINGORA: Three more killed in Swat

MINGORA, Aug 14: Three more persons were killed in the district on Thursday as security forces backed by artillery and helicopter gunships continued to pound different areas.

Eyewitnesses said that wife of Mohammad Rehman and her grand son were killed when the security forces opened firing on suspected hideout of militants in Dewolai area.

Five other persons identified as Mohammad Rehman, Ms Yasmeen, Ms Chaman, Sohail and Umerzada received injuries. They were taken to Said Sharif Hospital.

In Kabal area some unidentified assailants killed a person, Umer Ali. His body was found in Dhero area. Local Police said that the motive behind his killing was not known.

Witnesses said that the intense shelling by army choppers forced hundreds of people to flee their villages in Tiligram, Tagwan, Charbagh, Kabal and Matta areas. The shelling badly damaged some houses and a madrassa in Tiligram and Taghwan areas.
