KARACHI: Admissions to Class XII not yet completed

KARACHI, Aug 14: Despite the expiry of the July 31 deadline for the completion of the admission process of Class XII set in accordance with the Sindh education department’s academic calendar, most of the city’s government colleges have so far failed to finalise the process.

Attributing the delay to a lack of publicity made in this regard on part of the officials of the directorate-general of colleges, Sindh, a number of college teachers said that the process of admissions to Class XII could not be completed by July 31 as the students were under the impression that they would be able to get admission to Class XII only after Aug 1 when the colleges would reopen after two- month summer vacations.

Had the students been properly informed about the admission deadline, they would have turned up before the last date, remarked a senior professor of a government college. However, regular classes for Class XII students have begun at almost all the government colleges from Aug 1.
