Milkman gunned down in Quetta

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Aug 13: A milkman was gunned down in the city’s Sarki area on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Muqarib Jadoon was going to deliver milk to customers when he was attacked.

The murder follows the death of another milkman in a grenade attack on a shop on the Natha Singh Street on Tuesday night and a blast near the city nazim’s office.

“It was a hand grenade which was hurled by some people on a motorbike,” police sources said.

A powerful explosion was reported from Khuzdar damaging a wall of a government school.

According to sources, a bomb exploded in Mastung town on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, official sources said that militants fired rockets on a checkpost in the Babar Kach area of Sibi district on Tuesday night.

The rockets fired from nearby mountains exploded in an open area causing no casualty or damage.

The sources said that security personnel returned fire and the exchange continued till late night.

A spokesman for the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Beebargh Baloch, claimed that militants had attacked a convoy of security forces in the Bhambore area of Kohlu district killing over a dozen security personnel and injuring 20 others.

Using a satellite telephone, he told newsmen that three vehicles had been destroyed and two partially damaged.
