KARACHI, Aug 11: The Karachi University Inter-departmental Sports Gala 2008 commences on Tuesday with a hockey match between the Vice-chancellor’s Eleven and the Olympians Eleven.

The match to be played at Karachi University’s hockey ground will begin at 11.30am sharp.

The Vice-chancellor’s Eleven will comprise teachers and officials of the university while the Olympian’s Eleven boasts of the following players and reserves: Hanif Khan, Farhat Khan, Ehtesham Warsi, Pervaiz Iqbal, Iftikhar Syed, Anis Ahmed, Adeel Hussain, Kamran Ashraf, Qamar Ibrahim, Khalid Piracha, M. Khalid, Waseem Feroze, Arif Bhopali, Mumtaz Haider, Jan Mohammmad, Asif Ahmed, Sameer Hussain and Danish Kaleem.

The tournament, to continue till Aug 30, will hold events in hockey, cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, badminton, tennis, table tennis, squash and chess.
