KARACHI, Aug 11: Habib Bank Limited (HBL) beat Pakistan Television (PTV) 3-0 and Pakistan Steel triumphed against Pak Elektron (PEL), also 3-0, while Wapda and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) played a scoreless draw in the three Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) matches played at different venues simultaneously on Monday.

At the Peoples Sports Complex, the HBL scored their first goal in the 3rd minute through striker Khayal Mohammad who deflected into the goal a ball cleared by the bankers’ midfielder Aurangzeb. The score at interval remained 1-0.

The second half saw the HBL scoring their next two goals through their striker Mohammad Ishtiaq in the 69th minute with the assistance of reserve striker Mohammad Ibrahim and in the 89th minute through Mohammad Ibrahim himself.

Meanwhile, PTV missed several good chances to remain scoreless.

At the Pakistan Steel Ground, the home team’s winger Wahab contributed two of the goals in their tally of three.

The first one came in the 36th minute through striker Mohammad Akram’s cross pass and the second in the second half, in the 86th.

In between Mohammad Akram too chipped in one through his solo effort in the 76th minute.

The third match between Wapda and PIA, at Korangi Baloch Stadium, remained barren throughout the 90 minutes, resulting in the sharing of points by both the outfits.

Tuesday’s fixtures:

National Bank of Pakistan v Navy at CDGK at 5.30pm.

Karachi Electric Supply Corporation v Khan Research Laboratories at Peoples Sports Complex at 5.30pm.
