‘PA to adopt resolution effortlessly’

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Aug 10: Provincial Finance, Planning and Development Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said the Punjab Assembly will adopt the resolution against President Pervez Musharraf with a thumping majority on Monday (today).

Talking to a delegation of MPAs here on Sunday, the minister said that not only the treasury benches but a large number of opposition members would also support the resolution.

He said the president should realise the gravity of the situation and step down in the larger interest of the country instead of being removed from the office through impeachment.Mr Kaira said the impeachment resolution would be adopted with ease in a joint session of parliament because the coalition government was united and was taking all the critical decisions through consultation.

MASS CONTACT: The Pakistan People’s Party provincial setup has constituted a 23-member special mass-contact committee, headed by Senior Minister Raja Riaz Ahmed, for impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.
