SAHIWAL, Aug 10: At least 13,622 people’s names have been sent from Sahiwal district to the authorities for inclusion in the Food Stamp Scheme. Food Stamp Scheme Chairman Samiullah Chaudhry visited Sahiwal to discuss with district officials modalities of the food scheme.

At the meeting, chaired by Chaudhry, District Coordination Officer Muhammad Khan Khichi said 38,600 people had been identified for the food scheme and 27,876 of them had been verified by verification committees.

He said that so far names of 13,622 people had been sent to the authorities for inclusion in the scheme, adding that more names would be sent to the authorities after their verification.

Dawn has learnt that authorities are not considering the applicants whose application forms do not have approval stamps of local PML-N lawmakers.
