Villagers demand protection

By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, Aug 10: A notable of the Mir Khan Leghari village near Sakrand has claimed that some members of the ruling the party attacked a teenager, Barkat Ali Khaskheli, causing serious injuries.

Haji Allah Dino Khaskheli told journalists that when they approached Sakrand police station to register an FIR the police refused to respond.

He claimed that the attackers had made their lives miserable after the killing of Abdul Rasheed Leghari, brother of Ghulam Shah Leghari, the PPP secretary of Sakrand taluka, in a clash between two groups just before the general elections.

He alleged that firing on their houses had become a matter of routine and their rivals had bulldozed their houses and shops while police was not providing any protection to them.

He appealed to the authorities to take notice of injustices and provide protection and security to their lives and property.

When contacted, Wahid Bux of Sakrand police told

Dawn that that they had not received any report of such an incident.
