KARACHI, Aug 8: Nine ships carrying containers, coal and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where eight ships, Jaikur-2, Flag Investors and Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10 to load cement and clinkers, Limari, Merkur Bridge with containers, D.L. Violet, Valiant, and Sinar Agra, tankers, were berthed.

Sailing was also active as eight ships, APL Dalian, City of Xiamen, Bengal Orchid, Hawaian Star, Red Sea Spirit, Hyderabad, Ema Querida and Le Vi departed on Friday, while Vinalines Saigon, Limari, D.K. Violet, Sinar Agra, Admir Coral, Valiant, Merkur Bridge, Ali-16 and Quetta are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 85,628 tons comprising 28,047 tons of export cargo and 57,581 tons of import tonnage was handled on Friday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Chemroad Echo with base oil, Calvin P. Titus, Kapitan Byankin, Hyundai Duke, Sederberg, Far Singapore with containers, Fort Estoril with coal and Song Shan with general cargo.
