POA chief encourages Pakistan contingent

BEIJING, Aug 6: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) president Lt Gen Syed Arif Hasan on Wednesday called upon the Pakistan contingent to produce their best in the Olympics which opens on Friday.

He said, while addressing them at the Olympic Village here, that there were heavy expectations from hockey players to bring back the glory and honour to Pakistan.

After the brief ceremony, Gen Hasan mixed up with contingent members and kept motivating them to deliver their best, keeping up Olympic traditions and sporting spirit.

He exchanged views with Pakistan hockey chief coach Khawaja Zakauddin, skipper Zeeshan Ashraf and coach Naveed Alam, besides encouraging Pakistan’s athletes, swimmers and shooters.—APP
