KARACHI: April 9 probe


KARACHI, Aug 6: A tribunal in the Sindh High Court (SHC) commenced on Wednesday an inquiry into the violent incidents of April 9 in which 10 persons were killed, government properties damaged and about 40 vehicles set ablaze in Karachi.

Justice Nadeem Azhar Siddiqui presided over the proceedings, stated an official handout.

The tribunal issued a letter to the Sindh law secretary for detailment of the Sindh additional advocate-general to assist it.

It also issued a letter to the capital city police officer of Karachi for deputation of police officers for assistance to the tribunal and to submit relevant papers.—PPI
