By Our Correspondent

MARDAN, Aug 5: Eight rockets fired from Shakar Mora in the suburbs of Mardan landed in different areas of the city early on Tuesday morning.

According to police, three rockets landed on the premises of the Punjab Regiment Centre, seriously injuring Hawaldar Mohammad Sadiq.

One rocket hit the house of former president of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Sultan Shah Mohmand, on the Bank Road, leaving his daughter-in-law critically injured. A portion of the house was damaged in the attack.

Other rockets hit houses in Shaheen Colony and Mahallah Deputy Farman Ali.

Sources said that gunfires followed by the rocket attack sparked fear and a large number of people came out of their homes.
