Data Steel with 134 points win bridge contest
KARACHI, Aug 4: Data Steel with 134 victory points (VPs) won the Aslam Memorial bridge tournament at the Aslam Bridge Hall on Sunday evening.
Thirteen teams took part in the competition which was based on seven rounds of Swiss movement.
Data Steel had the services of Tariq Rasheed Khan, Hasan Akhtar Zaidi, Pervaiz Mirza, Imran Jaka, Rashid Jafer and Rashidul Ghazi.
After losing 14-16 against CNG2000, Data Steel outpaced Dervesh 25-5 and Candyland 25-5.
Solox defeated Data Steel 18-12 but could not stop them from winning with 134 VPs.
Dr Sarfraz finished second by accumulating 131 VPs.
They had the services of Anwer Kizilbash, Reza Naqvi, Mazhar Ali Khan and Shoaib Khan.
Dr Sarfraz beat Upcomers 22-8, Alis 23-7, Data Steel 17-13, CNG 20-10 and Mahmood IV 22-8.
Solox with Gulzar Bilal, Mohsin Chandna, Ghulam Mohammad, Jamal Nizami, Ghaffar Qureshi and Anwer Kemal accumulated 124 VPs and won third place.
They defeated Dervesh 17-13, Upcomers 24-6, Zeenat 17-13, Candyland 18-12, Dr. Sarfraz
16-14 and Data Steel 18-12.
