Faizan to face Sadan in final

ISLAMABAD, Aug 4: Eighteen matches were decided on the third day of the seventh Freedom Cup Junior tennis tournament at the PTF Tennis Complex on Monday.

Faizan Khurram and Sadan-ul-Haq qualified for the final of the boys’ U-17 event after winning their respective matches.

In the semi-final, Faizan Khurram brushed aside Jibran-ul-Haq 6-4, 6-1 and Sadan-ul-Haq defeated Bilal 6-3, 6-0.

In the boys’ U-13 event, Kashan-ul-Haq will compete against Hamza Mazhar in the final after they eliminated Abdullah and S. Nofil Kaleem respectively.

In the boys’ U-15 event, Syed Wasil Kaleem defeated top seed Kashan-ul-Haq in a well-contested three-set match. Wasil won the match at 6-7, 7-6, 6-4.

Boys’ U-17 semi-finals:

Faizan Khurram bt Syed Zohair Raza 6-1, 6-4; Sadan-ul-Haq bt Ahmed Ch. 6-0, 6-2.

Boys’ U-17 quarter-finals:

Syed Zohair Raza bt Aqil Khan 6-3, 6-0; Faizan Khurram bt Jibran-ul-Haq 6-4, 6-1; Sadan-ul-Haq bt Bilal 6-3, 6-0; Ahmed Ch. Bt Zahran Imtiaz 6-1, 6-0.

Boys’ U-15 semi-final:

Wasil Kaleem bt Kashan-ul-Haq 6-7, 7-6, 6-4; Aqil Khan bt Zain Haider 6-2, 6-1.

Boys’ U-13 semi-finals:

Kashan-ul-Haq bt Abdullah 6-2, 6-2; Hamza Mazhar bt S. Nofil Kaleem 6-2, 6-2.

Girls’ round robin:

Meheq Khokhar bt Qurat-ul-Ain 6-3, 7-6; Ushna Suhail bt Mahvish 6-0, 6-0;Hemaiel Zoila w/o Maham Arooj; Ushna Suhail bt Qurat-ul-Ain 6-3, 6-1; Meheq Khokhar bt Maham Arooj 6-0, 6-0; Mahwish bt Hamaiel Zoila 6-3, 6-3.

Boys’ doubles semi-finals:

Zohair Raza / Faizan Khurram bt S. Wasil Kaleem / M. Tufail 6-0, 6-0; Jibran-ul-Haq / Sadan-ul-Haq bt Ahmed Ch. / M. Ali Zubair 6-2, 6-4.
