2 killed as wagon overturns

ATTOCK, Aug 4: Two persons were killed and nine others injured in a road accident on Rawalpindi-Kohat road near Fatehjang on Sunday evening.

Police said a wagon was on its way from Fatehjang to Rawalpindi, when it overturned after its tyre burst near Qutbal village on Rawalpindi-Kohat road.

As a result two persons, Shaukat, a resident of Rawalpindi, and Umair, a resident of Azad Kashmir, were killed on the spot. Nine other passengers, including six women, were injured. They were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Fatehjang.

GAMBLERS HELD: Hazro police have arrested five gamblers and seized stake amount of Rs5,420 from them during a raid in Adulzai village.

The accused were identified as Tariq, Aziz Shah, Nazakat, Mumraiz and Azmat. However three persons managed to escape from the scene.

The Hazro police have registered a gambling case against the accused.

Similarly, Fatehjhang police have registered a case against Mumraiz Khan on the report of his uncle Muzaffar Khan, a resident of Jabal village, in which he alleged that the accused had attacked him with 12-bore rifle after entering his house forcibly. However he managed to overpower him.
