THATTA, Aug 4: The government staff at DCO secretariat observed pen down strike here on Monday in protest against what they described as harassment and use of derogatory and abusive language by a PPP activist against Tariq Ali Samoon, a PA to district officer of revenue,

The boycott of office work from 9am to 1pm badly affected routine day to day official work pertaining to accounts, domiciles, general despatch, revenue cases and land issues putting in trouble scores of villagers who come from far flung areas.

A meeting of All-Pakistan Clerks Association presided over by its district president Ghulam Qadir Baloch at Darbar Hall Makli was told that Mukhtiar Khudai claiming to be an office-bearer of PPP brought 10 domicile papers to Tariq Samoon without completing formalities and asked to process them immediately. On refusal he used harsh and abusive language, the meeting was told.
