SUKKUR, Aug 2: Hundreds of people, including women and children, staged a demonstration and sit-in at Qadria Mohalla Ghotki on Saturday against the killing of a young man.

The protesters claimed that some Rangers personnel killed Bashir Ahmed Shaikh on Friday.

Reports claimed that three Rangers personnel, in plain clothes, entered into Qadria Mohalla and snatched cellphone and Rs1,000 from Bashir Ahmed Shaikh, son of Ghulam Sarwar Shaikh.

Bashir raised alarm and other local people came out of their houses. The Rangers personnel called other Rangers personnel on cellphone saying that they had encountered dacoits.

Some Rangers personnel reached there in a vehicle and opened fire due to which Bashir Ahmed Shaikh was injured while the ranger personnel escaped, reports claimed.

The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital Sukkur where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.

Hundreds of people, belonging to Shaikh community, staged a protest demonstration in Qadria Mohalla.
