DADU, Aug 1: A taluka naib nazim and a union council nazim are among those recently arrested during a police operation against kidnappers in the Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar areas.

The police continued search operation on Friday to recover bank officials Fazal Rabi Shaikh and Abid Hussain Abro who had been kidnapped from near Khairpur Nathan Shah 10 days ago. However, police failed to recover them.

According to Dadu DPO Manzoor Hussain Khatiyan, some 600 officials from Hyderabad, Matiari, Jamshoro and Dadu were taking part in the operation.

He said that Mehar Taluka Naib Nazim Shahid Sihole, Bothro union council Gulzar Dahar and 40 others had been arrested for their alleged involvement in crimes. He said that the police were interrogating the naib nazim and the UC nazim in the bank officers’ kidnapping case.

Hyderabad DIG Sanaullah Abbasi has established a camp in Mehar and the DPO is leading the operation.

The Dadu police have asked the provincial home department to announce Rs1 million head money for bandits Abid Shah and Anwar Lund.
