SUKKUR, July 31: Two young sisters and their brother were gunned down by armed people over a matrimonial dispute in the jurisdiction of the “C” section police here on Thursday.

A group of armed people broke into the house of Mohammad Bux Brohi and opened indiscriminate fire, killing his two daughters and a son on the spot. Those killed included Sumaira, 20, Noor Jehan, 22, and Amanullah 18.

On information, police took the bodies to Civil Hospital Sukkur for post-mortem.

Later, Mah Bibi, mother of deceased, lodged an FIR with the area police against Nabi Dad Brohi, Shiraz Brohi and two unidentified accused.

She stated that her relative Shiraz Brohi had come to her house last night and demanded hand of Sumaira in marriage and, on her refusal, he along with his accomplices killed my children.

No arrest was made till the filing of this report.

In Shikarpur, a woman was killed and a man received serious bullet injuries in an armed clash between two rival groups of Tarat Jatois in Ali Gohar Tarat Jatoi village in the Lakhi area on Thursday.

According to police, a group of 12 armed Tarat Jatois attacked the house of Ali Gohar Tarat Jatoi with automatic weapons. The inmates and other villagers also returned the fire.

Due to heavy firing, Rabail Khatoon 35, wife of Ali Gohar died on the spot, while Arif Ali, nephew of Ali Gohar, sustained multiple bullet injuries.

The injured was rushed to Civil Hospital Shikarpur and the body of deceased was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. The motive behind the incident is said to be suspicion of attackers that Ali Gohar was informing the police about their movement.

On the complaint of Ms Shama wife of Ghulam Mustafa, the Lakhi police have registered an FIR against 12 people, including Bilawal, Misri, Jalaluddin, Nasrullah, Kifayatullah and Mukhtiar.

However, no arrest was reported till the filing of this report.
