KARACHI, July 30: Five ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and chemicals were berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers, crude oil and phosphoric acid also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Maersk Virginia, Dubai, Abbud-G, QSM Dubai, Leopard-B, Ocean Beauty, Yanaseni and Ice Base, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, Iron ore, chemicals and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 50,197 tons comprising 35,818 tons of import and 14,379 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Ice Base, Monique, Ocean Beauty and Dubai sailed out while Maersk Virginia and Yanaseni were expected to depart on Wednesday.
