PFF finalises terms with foreign coach

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, July 29: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has almost finalised terms and conditions with Romanian coach Molaovan Eugen to coach its national team for three years.

“Both the PFF and Eugen have agreed on the annual salary and other perks and benefits and the documents have been sent to him to sign the contract,” PFF secretary Col Ahmed Yar Lodhi told Dawn.

Eugen’s annual salary would be USD50,000 and he would be given the same amount on signing the contract, the secretary said.

The coach would also get one-month leave to go back home on PFF’s expenses, he said.

The secretary defended the decision by saying a foreign coach was need of the hour.

When Col Lodhi was asked that the Senate Standing Sub-committee on Sports had summoned heads of sports federations including the PFF for poor performance, he said the PFF had not received any official word so far.

He, however, claimed the PFF’s performance was better than other sports organisations in the country.
