Shahbaz gives last warning to Wasa MD


LAHORE, July 27: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has issued a last warning to the Water and Sanitation Agency managing-director against faulty sewerage system in the city.

He was talking to the office-bearers and workers of PML-N at Model Town on Sunday, says a handout.

The workers apprised the chief minister about the problems of their areas. Most of the complaints were about sewerage system, lack of health and educational facilities and poor condition of roads, on which Shahbaz Sharif issued on the spot orders to respective authorities.

The chief minister ordered suspension of a Wasa official responsible for not covering manholes in northern Lahore, including Mujahidabad and Dharampura.

He announced setting up of a maternity home in Dharampura and upgrading of girls middle school to high school in Faisal Park, Mughalpura. He said work on an overhead bridge in Mughalpura and hospital in Wagha would be started soon. He directed the LDA DG and Wasa MD to personally visit the areas to look into the complaints and submit him report in this regard.
