MIRAMSHAH: Taliban leader vows to continue fight

By Pazir Gul

MIRAMSHAH, July 27: A local Taliban leader Hafiz Gul Bhadur has accused the government and agencies of creating rifts among various militant groups to weaken what he said ‘their movement against imperialist forces’, sources said.

Gul Bhadur was addressing a ceremony held at a seminary in Razmak on Sunday attended by hundreds of Taliban and Ulema.

He said that the Taliban would foil nefarious designs of their enemies. He urged all militant factions to become united and shun their differences.

A member of the Ahmadzai Wazir tribe, Gul Bhadur was recently nominated chief of the local Taliban in the North and South Waziristan agencies.

A pro-government militant commander in the South Waziristan Maulvi Nazir had been appointed his deputy.
