KARACHI, July 27: Noted television and film actor Malik Akber Abbas, popularly known as Malik Anokha, died of cardiac arrest on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

He had been suffering from cardiac diseases for the last eight years. The renowned comedian was laid to rest in Sakhi Hasan graveyard, North Nazimabad on Sunday. His funeral was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life including politicians, social workers and his fellow artistes.

Malik Anokha remained associated with the show business for around 40 years. He was fluent in seven different languages.

He is survived by his widow, three daughters and a son.

His performance in various PTV drama serials including Karwan, Chalo Chalo Dubai Chalo, Waris etc will always be remembered. Besides, he had also showcased his talent in one Punjabi and 13 Sindhi language films.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has offered his condolence over the demise of Malik Anokha.—APP
