PMC beat PIA in PPFL encounter

KARACHI, July 26: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) drew 0-0 and Punjab Medical College (PMC), Faisalabad, beat Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) 1-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) matches played simultaneously on Saturday at the Peoples Sports Complex and Korangi Baloch Stadium, respectively.

The match between KESC and HBL saw KESC’s goalie Omar denying HBL any goals when he ably managed to stop everything coming his way.

In the second half, KESC’s frontline comprising Aurangzeb, Lal Mohammad and Abdul Ghafoor were seen dominating but unable to score as all their attempts missed the goal.

The other match between

PIA and PMC saw PMC’s striker Tanveer-ul-Hasnain scoring the lone match-winning goal for his side in the 55th minute giving PIA, which includes nine international players in the squad, their second consecutive defeat in the tournament, the first one being to Karachi Port Trust (KPT) on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Afghan FC and Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) encounter that was postponed on Friday due to the sad demise of the home team’s president Haji Jamal and was also played on Saturday saw Afghan FC winning by 1-0. The winner was scored by spearhead

Mahmood Khan in the 11th minute.

Sunday’s fixture: Pakistan Steel v Karachi Port Trust at the Pakistan Steel Township Ground at 5.30pm.
