SUKKUR, July 26: Zahid Malik, the husband of Aisha Malik, was released from Central Jail-I, Sukkur on Saturday.

Ansar Barni Trust and advocates Ahmed Murtaza Memon and Qurban Malano were trying for his release.

Zahid Malik has been freed after spending 15 months in jail for the crime, according to him, he never committed. Zahid was released on bail.

He was sent to jail in theft and motorcycle snatching cases.

His wife, Aisha Malik, had grabbed media attention when she offered her children for sale due to extreme poverty.

After his release, Zahid Malik told journalists that all the three cases registered against him by his brother-in-law Ghulam Mohammad Korai advocate, were false and added that he was badly tortured in judicial lockup Ghotki for about three months.—Correspondent
