TIMERGARA, July 26: The prime minister had neither taken the parliament nor the nation into confidence before his maiden official visit to the United States of America, said Jamaat-i-Islami deputy chief Liaquat Baloch here on Thursday.

Addressing a function organised by Timergara District

Bar Association, he said that the premier was leaving the country at the time when it was passing through a critical situation.

Bar president Hazrat Rahman and former senior provincial minister Sirajul Haq also spoke on the occasion.

Baloch appreciated lawyers’ movement and termed it of historical importance in the country politics for the rule of law and said it would finally bear fruits.

He said that lawyers should not be disappointed because their struggle to free the judicial system of the country would be written in golden words.

The recent war on terror, he said, was a US staged drama to pit Pak Army against its own people to weaken this strong nation and the nuclear Muslim state.

Baloch criticised the rulers and said they had been following the policies of previous regime. He said the ruling coalition partners lacked consensus and coordination and all of them were engaged in leg-pulling.

He announced to continue struggle for freedom of judiciary, reinstatement of all the deposed judges and supremacy of parliament.

He demanded of the rulers to end military operations in all parts of the country and send back the troops to their barracks, adding that peace would be restored only after the withdrawal of army from troubled areas.

Terming the presence of Nato forces in Afghanistan and on the border of Pakistan as a threat to the future of this Muslim state, Baloch appealed to Ummah to devise a joint strategy against them.

He blamed the rulers for taking dictation from the USA and its agents and demanded adopting a uniform foreign policy after an open debate in the parliament.

Later on talking to local journalists Mr Baloch said that All Parties Democratic Movement leaders were providing an opportunity to the rulers to take a right direction and that was why they were avoiding any agitation and mass movement against the government.

He said that rulers had badly failed to resolve problems of the people as the poor were being forced to commit suicide. He said the nation had been facing a host of problems but the rulers had not been paying any attention to them.
