NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: AT protests against price hike, joblessness

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, July 24: Awami Tehrik activists took out rallies and staged sit-in in Naushahro Feroze and Moro in protest against price hike, unemployment and lawlessness.

The party activists in Naushahro Feroze, led by Zahid Babar, and in Moro, led by AT district president Ghulam Fareed Kalhoro, Labour Party Pakistan leader Younus Rahu and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz leader Ashraf Laghari, took out rallies and staged sit-in outside the local press clubs. Carrying placards and banners, the protesters raised slogans against the government.

They criticised the PPP government and said that it did not fulfill its promises made with the people.

They said that the people of the country had been pushed against the wall as a common man could not arrange a single meal for his family.

They said the law and order situation had worsened as people were being looted and kidnapped in broad daylight.

They demanded of the government to provide jobs to unemployed youths on merit basis, control law and order and the price hike.

POLICEMEN INJURED: Three people, including two policemen, were injured in a road accident in Kandiaro.

Lakha Road SHO Ashiq Hussain Soomro, constable Gul Bahar Korejo and driver Bhatti were going to Naushahro Feroze in a car when a Peshawar- bound trailer hit their car.

The injured were shifted to taluka hospital Kandiaro and later Ashiq Soomro was referred to a Khairpur hospital due to his critical condition.Kandiaro police has arrested the trailer driver and impounded the vehicle.
