Review plea in Khan case rejected
By Our Staff Reporter
ISLAMABAD, July 23: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday rejected on technical grounds a petition filed by Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan’s lawyer seeking review of its judgment of July 21 which had placed curbs on his interaction with the media. Advocate Javed Iqbal Jafree, however, claimed that the objection raised by the court had already been addressed in the petition.
The nuclear scientist told Dawn that his lawyer was in Lahore and would meet him on Friday. “We will chalk out a line of action when my lawyer meets me,” he said.
Dr Khan said he had not been given any relief after the orders of the court and he was still under the conditions that he had been suffering since his detention in 2004.
He said he had not been allowed to meet anyone. “Ten days ago, I requested the authorities concerned to allow my old friend Prof Khursheed Ahmed of Jamaat-i-Islami, who is uncle of my son-in-law, to meet me, but so far they have not replied,” he added.
