Two killed by trailing rivals


ISLAMABAD, July 23: Two persons were killed over old enmity in separate incidents in the capital, police said on Wednesday.

Khuda Yar, a native of Bhal Syedan village in Fatehjang, was allegedly shot dead by his rivals when he was heading to his hometown to purchase land.

The police said a group of gunmen ambushed Khuda Yar near Patana Link Road in Tarnol after getting information about his travel plan.

On getting the information, the police arrived at the crime scene and found him dead. The body was shifted to Pims for legal process. According to the police, Khuda Yar’s family had an enmity with a Pashtun family, residing in the same village, since long over a piece of land.

In another incident, Ghulam Farooq, a native of Bajaur Agency, was allegedly gunned down by his rival(s) near Golra police station.

Farooq, a labourer, used to live at different places in the capital. His rival(s) intercepted him near the police station late Tuesday night and opened fire on him.

The labourer received three bullets. Shortly afterwards, police arrived at the spot and shifted Farooq to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.— Staff Reporter
