KARACHI, July 22: Islamabad-based cueist Shehram Changezi has jumped seven places to reach top of the ladder in the latest domestic rankings released by the Pakistan and Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) after the 12th Style Snooker Cup, which concluded here last month.

Shehram notched up an impressive 6-2 victory over Sindh’s Naveen Perwani in the final to land the second national ranking title of his career. He proved that his triumph was not a flash in a pan as he had routed Naveen 4-1 in the league round earlier.

Prior to entering the Style Cup, Shehram was lying at eighth slot and surprised the all and sundry with his amazing performance pushing reigning national champion Mohammad Sajjad of Punjab to second position.

Sajjad, who captured the national crown in his maiden appearance earlier this year registering 7-3 win over Saleh Mohammad to top the ranking failed to maintain his form.

NWFP’s Saleh Mohammad has been slipped to third place from previous second.

Sindh’s Naveen Perwani and Khurram Agha are trailing at seventh and eighth positions, respectively.

Former world amateur champion Mohammad Yousuf, who has ruled the domestic scene at stretch, has come down to 19th position, 10 steps below his previous ranking, followed by NWFP’s Rambel Gul.

Yousuf’s son Azeem has improved two steps and is placed at 30th position.
