MIRPURKHAS, July 22: Police claimed to have killed a robber and arrested two of his accomplices after an encounter near Sunni Mori check-post on Tando Adam road late on Monday night.

SPO City Mehboob Baloch told journalists said that they signalled a taxi to stop, which was carrying three robbers who had snatched the vehicle at gunpoint from one Ramzan Khaskheli and were driving it to Tando Adam but instead they opened fire on cops.

Police returned fire and killed Mir Jan Mohammad Mari on the spot. His accomplices Gulzar Mari and Sher Ali Mari were arrested and police recovered the snatched taxi and unlicensed arms, he said.

Police had cordoned off the entry and exit points of the town after nazim of union council Turk Ali Mari informed them about the incident.Body of Jan Mohammad Mari was handed over to heirs after post mortem at Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital.
