ISLAMABAD, July 21: The government on Monday reconstituted Pakistan International Airlines’ board of directors, this time leaving out the director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority who used to be its ex-officio member.

A defence ministry notification said that the PIAC board of directors had been reconstituted with Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar as ex-officio chairman, Defence Secretary Kamran Rasool; Secretary Finance Farrakh Qayyum and Managing Director of PIA Capt Aijaz Haroon are ex-officio members; and former petroleum secretary Capt Naseer, Prof Mian Ijazul Hassan, Javed Akhtar and Hussain Lawai as members. Malik Nazir Ahmed and Mubashir Iftikhar are its elected members.
