TIMERGARA: Blast damages vehicle in Lower Dir

TIMERGARA, July 21: Four persons were wounded in a celebratory firing while a pick-up truck was slightly damaged when a remote controlled device went off next to it, in Maidan area of Lower Dir district on Monday, police said.

The pick up truck was going to Timergara and when it reached near Galgoth area the explosion occurred damaging the vehicle. However, the driver of the truck escaped unhurt.

DPO Syed Fida Hassan told Dawn that police reached the area immediately after the incident and started raids on the houses of suspected persons.

Meanwhile, four people were injured in a celebratory firing in Babagam locality of Maidan, in the jurisdiction of Lal Qilla police station.

The injured, Badar Munir, Khairur Rahman, Abdullah and Azizullah, were taken to the DHQ hospital, Timergara, where the condition of two was stated to be critical.
